Looking through Erika Kruger's work i found that shadows are not just an area where direct light from a light source can not reach due to an obstruction of a object. The image above shows that shadows can change the appearance of the whole building.
Reflection on my own work, i never think about how the shadows of an object will affect the appearance as a whole. I immediately skip the experimental phase and jump straight into fabricating the object as accurately as possible, i am always thinking whether the building is structurally stable and therefore i tend to think about making the object linear and clean cut.
As Shaowen suggested, i need to free myself from the structural constraints that i have learn from studying in TAFE and add more imagination into formalistic and aesthetic aspect of design and concerntrate more on the relationship between spaces.
